Quick Start (Owner Safe Rules)

START HERE Non-technical Printable

How to use this manual

  1. Follow the tabs in order: Cars → Tracks → Setups is the core workflow.
  2. Make it a habit: after every session, add a short note and Save.
  3. Keep it consistent: use the same naming style for cars, tracks, and sessions so your history stays readable.
Owner vs Crew
  • Owner sets up the team, controls invites, and manages backups.
  • Crew typically views history and helps capture notes during the night (depending on permissions).

SprintCar Pro stores your cars, tracks, setups, notes, inventory, and history. This manual matches the exact top tabs you see in SCP.

  1. Save often. If you type changes, click the Save button on that screen.
  2. Backup before race weekend. View Options → Create Backup.
  3. Backup after the night. Your best setups and notes are now protected.
  4. Edit the correct item. Confirm the selected car/track/setup before typing.
Do not rely on memory. If it matters, type it. After each session: Save + add a short note.

Main Screen Overview

Cars / Tracks / Setups / Analytics / Inventory / Weather / View Options / AI Assistant

Main Screen — what you’re looking at

This is the command row for everything you do in SprintCar Pro. Each tab is a workspace. Your goal is to keep data clean so you can find it fast on race night.

Fast workflow (race night)
  • Before first hot laps: confirm Car + Track exist.
  • After each run: open the correct Setup, record changes, then Save.
  • After the feature: add final notes and create a Backup.
Rule: Always confirm the selected Car + Track before typing notes. Most “lost notes” are just saved to the wrong setup.

The top tabs are the main workflow. Click a tab to switch sections.

  1. Open SCP.
  2. Look across the top for the tabs.
  3. Click a tab. The screen changes instantly.

Cars Tab — Create & Manage Cars

WORKFLOW New / Save / Rename / Delete

Cars — set your foundation once

  1. Create one car per chassis. Use a clear name (example: “27 — Maxim — 410”).
  2. Keep details stable: number, chassis brand, engine class, and baseline notes stay with the car.
  3. Use Notes for permanent info: torsion bar sizes, baseline wheelbase, common tire package, etc.
Best practices
  • Don’t duplicate cars for each track. Tracks and setups handle that.
  • Rename instead of delete if you’re unsure—deleting can remove the link to older sessions.
  • One “Test Car” entry can be helpful for experimenting without polluting race history.
Troubleshooting: If your setup list looks “wrong,” check you’re on the correct Car first.

Use Cars to add your cars and keep details consistent.

Create a new car Required
  1. Click Cars.
  2. Click New.
  3. Type the Car name.
  4. Optional: enter number, chassis brand, engine class, notes.
  5. Click Save car.
Rule: Save before switching tabs.
Edit an existing car Common
  1. Click the car in the list (left).
  2. Edit on the right.
  3. Click Save car.
Rename or delete Careful
Rename is safer than delete if you’re unsure.
  1. Rename: select car → Rename car → confirm.
  2. Delete: select car → Delete car → confirm.

Tracks Tab — Add Tracks

WORKFLOW Search / Filters / Save

Tracks — build your track library

  1. Add your home tracks first. This keeps race night selection fast.
  2. Use consistent naming: “Track Name — City/State” so search works.
  3. Capture track notes: banking, surface type, usual moisture pattern, and what time it slicks off.
Importing tracks (team workflow)
  • If you have a track list to import (from another device or team file), import it once, then verify names.
  • After import, search a few known tracks to confirm they’re in the library.
Pro tip: Add “Track Condition” keywords in notes (tacky, black, curb, slick) so you can search later.

Use Tracks to add tracks manually and keep notes about conditions.

Add a track manually Required
  1. Click Tracks.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter Track name and details (surface, banking, notes).
  4. Click Save track.
Find a track quickly Fast
  1. Use Search to filter by name/city/notes.
  2. Use filters like Surface and Country if available.

Setups Tab — Sessions & Setup Editor

CORE TAB Save setup Print setup sheet

Setups — sessions are your history

  1. Create one setup per session. Examples: Hot Laps, Heat, B-Main, Feature.
  2. Start with the basics: date, session name/type, car, track.
  3. Record only what changed: keep notes short and clear (example: “+1 turn RR, -1/2 bar LR, wing +2”).
  4. Save after every session before switching tabs.
How to write notes that help next week
  • What the track was doing (moisture, grip lane, cushion).
  • What the car was doing (entry, center, exit; tight/loose).
  • What you changed and what it fixed (or didn’t).
  • Lap time / finish / where it passed (optional but powerful).
Printing: Print the setup sheet for the crew or for your binder. Keep one printed baseline for each track.

Record each session and the setup used. Work top→bottom, then Save.

Create a new setup Required
  1. Click Setups.
  2. Click New setup.
  3. Fill Date, Session name, Session type.
  4. Select Saved car and Saved track.
  5. Enter weather, engine, chassis, notes as needed.
  6. Click Save setup.
Print setup sheet Printable

Analytics Tab — Performance Summary

READ-ONLY Totals / By track / Comparison

Analytics — read what your data is telling you

  1. Use Analytics after the night to review what actually worked.
  2. Compare sessions when you have two similar track conditions (example: Heat vs Feature on a slick track).
  3. Look for patterns: what changes consistently fixed entry/exit issues.
What to do if analytics looks “empty”
  • Confirm you saved the setup sessions (Setups tab).
  • Confirm you’re viewing the correct car + track filters, if present.
  • Older sessions tied to deleted/renamed items may not group as expected—avoid deleting.

Analytics summarizes results. It does not change setups.

  1. Click Analytics.
  2. Review totals and breakdowns.
  3. If comparison exists, pick Setup A/B and read results.

Inventory Tab — Engines & Parts

TEAM RECORDS Assign to car

Inventory — engines, tires, parts, and assignments

  1. Add engines and major components so your notes can reference what was installed.
  2. Assign parts to a car if the system supports it—this keeps the team aligned.
  3. Log identifiers (serials, hours, cycles) when available—this helps troubleshooting.
Race night usage
  • Update what changed (engine swap, shock package, gear, etc.).
  • Use Inventory as the “truth” so notes stay consistent across the crew.

Inventory keeps engines and parts organized and tied to cars.

Engines Common
  1. Click Inventory.
  2. Click New engine.
  3. Fill details → click Save engine.
Parts Common
  1. Add/edit a part.
  2. Assign to a car if available.

Weather Tab — Conditions

REFERENCE GPS fill if available

Weather — capture conditions that explain the setup

  1. Record temperature, humidity, and wind when you arrive and when the feature runs.
  2. Update between sessions if conditions are changing fast.
  3. Use the same approach every week so your data becomes comparable.
Why this matters
  • Track moisture, grip, and tire behavior often correlate with temperature and wind.
  • Having conditions written down makes your “why did it work?” answers real.

Weather records conditions for the session.

  1. Click Weather.
  2. Use “current weather” if available.
  3. Edit values to match reality.

Import Tracks (Team Library)

  1. Open Tracks and confirm the team is selected (if applicable).
  2. Use Import Tracks (or equivalent) to bring in a list from another device/team file.
  3. After import, search a few tracks to confirm they loaded correctly.
  4. Fix names immediately if needed so search stays reliable.

Backups (Most Important)

  1. Before race weekend: create a backup and store it somewhere safe (computer + cloud).
  2. After the night: save final notes, then create another backup labeled with the date/track.
  3. If you ever need to restore, restore the file and then verify:
    • Car list is correct
    • Track library is correct
    • Latest sessions exist
Troubleshooting teams & crew
  • If a crew member “can’t see anything,” confirm they joined the correct team and their access level.
  • If you don’t see recent changes, confirm the correct team is active, then refresh/reopen.
  • If something looks corrupted, restore the last known good backup.

Backups and restore live here. Owners should know this tab.

Create Backup Required
  1. Click View Options.
  2. Find Create Backup.
  3. Click it and save the file somewhere safe.
Restore Backup Careful
Warning: Restore replaces data with the backup file.
  1. Find Restore Backup.
  2. Select the backup file.
  3. Confirm your data after restore.

AI Assistant Tab — Help

SAFE Guidance only

AI Assistant — use it for guidance, then record decisions in Setups

  1. Ask a focused question (example: “Tight on entry, loose off—what should we try first?”).
  2. Apply the changes in the real tabs (Setups / Inventory / Notes).
  3. Write down what you changed and whether it helped.
Good questions
  • “What’s the first adjustment for a car that won’t rotate center?”
  • “What notes should I track on a slick track to be consistent?”
  • “Help me summarize tonight’s changes into a baseline.”

Ask questions. You still apply changes yourself in Setups.

  1. Click AI Assistant.
  2. Ask your question.
  3. Apply changes in Setups and Save.
